April, Here I Come!
Posted on: 31st of March 2008 | Under: Life & Love

Things that I’m looking forward to in April:

  1. Getting photos of the London Book Fair, where my Moleskine Art will be exhibited. I already sent my sketchbook to Milan. :)
  2. The 5 new moleskines that I’ll be receiving for free! Yey!
  3. Meeting up with Mikko and a few other camera lovers on the 3rd. I finally get my first ever lomo cam (Vivitar PN 2011)! I’ve been itching to get one for months, and I just couldn’t stop myself any longer. =P
  4. My trip to Singapore for JR‘s birthday. I can’t wait!!!
  5. Getting my Holga 120 CFN when I get to Singapore. <3
  6. Spending quality time (5 days!) with JR. <3 Lots of hugs waiting! :)
  7. Shopping galore!!!!
  8. A good month at work. I’m expecting really positive clients in April.
Moleskine Project

Exactly two weeks ago, I received an email from Marsida Shyti from moleskine.com, inviting me to participate in the Moleskine Exhibit for the London Book Fair in April. She chanced upon my moleskine art through my flickr, and chose me, together with several other moleskine users/artists to participate.

Here’s an excerpt from her email:

Like every year Moleskine will attend this important fair. We focused our attention upon the value of the trade show through the original and artistic use of Moleskine notebooks, so we decided to choose and expose a small quantity of the most stylish Moleskine notebooks.

Your work is perfect for this purpose! It represents the ideal feeling we would communicate about Moleskine and, in our opinion, could also be a good opportunity for you in terms of visibility.

Do you agree to send us one of your Moleskine notebook? Otherwise, if you prefer, we can send you a new notebook to personalise. For your co-operation and your kind help we will send you five new Moleskine notebooks, the layout you prefer.

And because an opportunity like this doesn’t really come everyday, I agreed to participate. I guess it’s also the perfect excuse for me to start drawing/painting again. I actually haven’t touched my moleskine sketch in almost a year!

I got into the groove right away, and have been enjoying my free time filling up my moleskine every day. Here are a few of the things I’ve done so far:

I have about twenty more pages to do before I send the book to Marsida Shyti in Italy. And I only have until the end of the month for that, so wish me luck! =)

I love the kitchen. I enjoy turning simple ingredients into scrumptious meals and toothsome cakes. It’s something that I must’ve gotten from my mother, because when I was a little girl, I used to hang around the kitchen watching her prepare luscious treats for the family. I admired her hands, because they always came up with the most delicious creations.

Today I brought out my baking tray and whipped up my yummy cheesecake. It’s actually my mom’s very own recipe, but I’ve claimed it my own since I started baking it several years ago. =P I think I’ve finally perfected it. It looked so good that I actually took it out of the refrigerator to devour a slice, even before it fully cooled. LOL!

For my next project, I will actually attempt baking my mom’s chocolate cake. =P

The cold weather in Manila these past few days has been perfect for snuggling in bed with a good book. If only I had any to read. I’ve been meaning to go shopping for books, but every time I’m at the bookstore, I seem to be left stuck with choosing a good one (or two) to buy.

Anyone want to recommend a good read? :)
