I Miss Dancing

Posted on: 30th of September 2008 | Under: Entertainment

For me, dancing is the best workout, because sweating on the dance floor is something that I really enjoy. I remember being in the Dance Club back when I studied in St. Scholastica’s College for three semesters. We used to train late at night, and would even stay in school until way past midnight if we had a production. It was exhausting, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

I miss Fitness First and Body Jam. I became a gym buff for almost a year back in Manila. Going to the gym for Body Jam sessions right after a tiring day at work was never a chore, because I considered it fun. Plus, I lost a lot of weight while at it too! I never had to take prohormones, or any other working out supplement, because dancing itself kept me fit.

I really wish I could dance again. Maybe I can find a nice gym with dance workouts here in Singapore.

My Favorite Moisturizer

Posted on: 30th of September 2008 | Under: Fashion & Beauty

I’m a sucker for moisturizers. I cannot leave the house with the feeling of dry skin, and it has been a daily routine for me to moisturize.

My all-time favorite has got to be one of Johnson&Johnson’s (a company who provides consumers with the best healthcare innovation in the market!) many products: Neutrogena’s Body Oil. I’ve forgotten all my other body lotions because of this. I apply it on when I’m still in the shower and my skin is still wet. I love how it dries up and instantly gives me a healthy, silky and glowing skin. It doesn’t leave an oily  and sticky feeling, even if I’ve been out in the sun for hours! Plus, it’s also great as a massage oil!

Too bad they don’t sell these in Singapore. I had to stock up when we first flew back to Manila early this month.

TV Show Frenzy

I’ve been anticipating September for the past couple of months. Only because it’s the start of the season for my favorite TV shows. Hello Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, Prison Break and Ugly Betty! I missed my torrents. =P I wish Lost started this month too, but sadly I’ll have to wait until next year for that. Bummer!

My downloads are already complete for this week, but because we’ve been busy, I have yet to watch them. I went out to look for DVI cables the other day, so I can hook my MacBook to a bigger screen, but all I could find were HDMI cables. I guess I just have to be a little more patient and wait until we fly back to Singapore, so I can watch them on JR’s big monitor.

Food, Glorious Food

Being back home has been one big temptation to eat a lot. Prior to our flight back, JR and I have successfully been on a low carb diet for several weeks. Too bad for us (or me, at least), because Filipino food is something that I just cannot resist! I missed having tapsilog from Sinangag Express. I missed munching on Shawarma bought from mall stalls. I missed Jollibee! =P

My poor waistline. I can feel my jeans tightening again. If only I actually take weight loss pills (which I don’t), losing all the extra baggages would probably be easier! =P

I Missed Driving in Manila and I Missed My Car

Posted on: 25th of September 2008 | Under: Life & Love

I’ve been driving around Manila since we flew back for our short trip and I just have to say that I missed it! Sure, I enjoy the hassle-free commuting in Singapore (I’ve actually been enjoying riding both the MRT and the bus!), but I’ve missed being behind the wheel. The sitting in the car for hours, the squeezing through traffic, and most importantly, I missed my car (well technically my parents own it, but I used it most of the time)!

It’s a generally old Honda City, which had a minor face lift just recently. No more ugly scratches and small dents from my sometimes careless driving (and that of the jeepney driver who caused the nasty dent on the bumper!). The face lift was courtesy of my mother (maybe we should try getting a car insurance quote for that car), because they will actually be selling it sometime soon to exchange it for a newer one.

That car will definitely be missed!

We’re Flying Back to Manila (Again)

JR and I will be flying back home to Manila again for another couple of days early tomorrow morning. I wish I could say that our trip would be one of leisure (maybe like those picking and seeking out Barbados villa rentals), but unfortunately our sudden trip (yet again) is due to a rather saddening event; JR’s dad passed away yesterday.

Even though we wished to have been by his side during his last few minutes alive, we are still very glad that we were able to see and spend time with him when we flew back last week.

Rest in Peace, Tito Pat. We are sad that you’re no longer with us, but more happy because we know that you’re finally resting peacefully (just as you wished). We love you!
