I started at my new work today. It was both fun and tiring at the same time. Fun, because my workmate/co-designer is an old friend and batchmate from PSID. It somehow made me feel comfortable faster and easily. At least I didn’t have to go through the awkward first-day-silence.
First day, and I did the dirty work right away. Drafting, drafting, and more drafting. I had to finish the floor plans and detailed elevations of 4 bathrooms, as well as the power layout of a three-storey house project that we’re presenting to a client tomorrow. It’s already an on-going project, so I had to really take in all the details and design concept in a rush, so I could work on things right away. My workmate and I even ended up rushing more plans and drawings until 10pm (yes, overtime on my first day!), just to make our work a little lighter tomorrow. I’m glad I don’t have to make detailed drawings for more complicated things like Ferrari parts (not like we actually have to anyway), or else I would probably be cross-eyed already. I also have to try to come in a little earlier tomorrow, so I can finish things in time for the 1pm meeting.
Lots of work, but I’m embracing all of it. I missed it! XP
