Another Moleskine ProjectPosted on: 30th of March 2009

Artsy Fartsy
If you’re a regular visitor of my blog, then you would know how much I love painting in my moleskine sketchbooks. My first moleskine art was exhibited at the London Book Fair last April 2008, while my second set has been exhibted around several European cities (Milan, Rome, Turin, Frankfurt) and is still currently with Moleskine Italy.
Two weeks ago, Moleskine Italy contacted me to do another project for them again. A new set of moleskine notebooks will be available in the market by mid-April, and they sent me one to fill up in time for this year’s London Book Fair (which is next month already!!).
The new moleskine notebooks (called Moleskine Folio) will come in two new sizes: A4 and A3. Perfect sizes for artists who enjoy the freedom of space. They sent me an A4 sketchbook, and at first I was a little hesistant drawing on a bigger space that I’m used to (I used the pocket size in my previous moleskine art), but I quickly fell in love with it. I like how I don’t have to squeeze my illustrations in the small pages anymore. =)
Here’s a comparison of the different moleskine sizes:

A4, Large, Pocket
See how big the A4 is compared to the pocket? =P
Anyway, I’ve been quite busy filling the pages up these past few days. Here are two of my recent works:

Done in gouache and soft pastels. I love my polaroid! Digicams are also great, but I tend to snap too many photos with my digicam. It’s probably one of the reasons why my mac’s hard drive has been suffering! I really need to clean up its memory soon. Or maybe get a new dell memory or something. Polaroids are great, because they print instant memories. Each photo is always unique and personal. <3 Save Polaroid!

Done in gouache. You can never be too full for dessert! =P This is my second edition of this illustration. See the first one here. :)
To view the rest of the pages (it’s still a work in progress, though) head on over to my flickr.

Entertainment
One of the reasons why I love living in Singapore is the fact that I get to watch concerts of bands that I really like. For example, seeing Lifehouse, one of my all-time favorite bands, in concert last year was something that really blew me away.
Now, Coldplay is not exactly at the top of my list of favorite bands, but I do like listening to their music, and I was excited enough to see them in concert last Monday. My expectations weren’t so high, because I really just intended on hearing them live. The boyfriend and I bought the lowest ticket and were seated high above in the Singapore Indoor Stadium, and at a distance from the stage. Being high up turned out to be a wiser choice, as we could gladly see everything that was happening. :)
Here are a few photos to describe the whole experience:

JR and I waiting for the concert to start.

We were THAT far from the stage, but the view was fantastic, nevertheless! The stage was awesome!

Cutting Down on ShoppingPosted on: 25th of March 2009

Fashion & Beauty
I love it when stores go on Sale. That’s usually the time when I tend to spend a little more than necessary. Sometimes I really just can’t resist a good deal! But I think I’ve been spending a little too much on retail therapy lately. Must cut down. Must resist the urge to visit the mall every so often. Must start saving! =P

Shopping Galore in KLPosted on: 21st of March 2009

Fashion & Beauty
I did say that I did a lot of shopping in KL, right? Let me share with you what I took back to Singapore with me. =)
My uncle from the US gave me a new phone: a Blackberry Curve! He was in Manila early this year, and I was glad to finally get my hands on it. =P

I forgot to bring my Polaroid camera when we went home for Christmas, so I asked my sister to bring it to KL for me. I missed it! It still has a couple of shots left in it. Will hunt down for cheap films soon (must stock up before they’re completely gone!).

I went shoe-crazy! Wheee! <3 And to think that I even shopped at the Charles and Keith warehouse sale just a day before I went to KL! LOL! I bought two flats at Vincci (VNC in Manila), and another one at Nose. They were unbelievably cheap! Very comfy too. Especially the black one. I used it while running around KL.
