I love the kitchen. I enjoy turning simple ingredients into scrumptious meals and toothsome cakes. It’s something that I must’ve gotten from my mother, because when I was a little girl, I used to hang around the kitchen watching her prepare luscious treats for the family. I admired her hands, because they always came up with the most delicious creations.
Today I brought out my baking tray and whipped up my yummy cheesecake. It’s actually my mom’s very own recipe, but I’ve claimed it my own since I started baking it several years ago. =P I think I’ve finally perfected it. It looked so good that I actually took it out of the refrigerator to devour a slice, even before it fully cooled. LOL!
For my next project, I will actually attempt baking my mom’s chocolate cake. =P

2006 passed quicker than I had imagined, and just as I had predicted, the whole year was definitely full of wonderful memories.
- Early on in 2006, I finally got my driver’s license. I had been putting it off for years, and pushing myself to take classes was indeed one of the best things I did. I enjoy taking public transportation (learning how to commute when we moved back here was something I was really proud of), but I also enjoy having the comfort of driving myself anywhere I please.
- 2006 also gave way to numerous reunions with old friends from Brunei, including this one. Of course, more pictures can be viewed in my Multiply account.
- Graduating was my biggest achievement of the year. Walking up on stage made me feel so good, especially since I had a medal pinned on my toga for an honorable mention. :)
- As a graduation gift, my parents bought me my MacBook, which actually still keeps me up all night. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it! XP
- Our Singapore Trip was probably the highlight of 2006. Ten days spent with JR, sight-seeing, shopping and meeting up with my dear friends. It was one big adventure that definitely tops all the adventures that we’ve had as a couple. <3
- Family occasions are something that I love, and my parents’ 25th Wedding Anniversary was a family effort that we all enjoyed. Despite the obstacles that popped up along the way, we still managed to push things through beautifully. :)
- 2006 was also full of love, and celebrating our 3rd year together was fun. Probably the best anniversary spent together. <3
Greeting the New Year was extra special, because JR spent it with my family and I. He came over early in the morning of December 31st and tagged along as I did my errands the whole day: shopping for bathroom fixtures with my mom and dad, doing the groceries, mass at 7pm, and then making tacos and onion rings for dinner. By midnight, we were out on the street watching pretty fireworks. We don’t buy fireworks/crackers, so our New Years are always spent watching our neighbors light theirs.
We watched….

Staying at home almost everyday has altered my eating habit drastically. Gone are the days when I could last a whole week (even a few months!) of going rice-free. Gone are the days when I could resist without hesitation even just a bite of sinful chips or a slice of some scrumptious cake. Gone are the days when I would be heartily satisfied with a small portion of meat with vegies, or a simple tuna sandwich.
I have lost discipline over my taste buds. I have lost discipline over temptation.
And because of my unhealthy eating for the past few months, it was definitely not a surprise to start feeling my thighs suffocating beneath a couple of my jeans that are now about a half size too small. Even a double chin is starting to develop!
So in hopes of attempting to get back into shape, I promised myself to eat healthy today.
I had a light breakfast of toast, then prepared myself a sandwich for lunch. I enjoyed every bite of each meal.
Dinner was delicious (and healthy!) because I grilled myself some chicken breasts and had it with salad on the side.

My plan was going perfectly well, until I had a crazy idea of whipping out my spatula and baking tray. One thing led to another, and the next thing I know is that I had baked and filled up an entire jar of double chunky chocolate chip cookies!

With that crazy idea, I had broken my plan for the day. I must’ve already had about 4 cookies, but even if it’s already past midnight, my feet are itching for me to walk to the kitchen to grab a couple more! 8-}
Oh Lords! Tomorrow, I promise not to make any more promises about going on a diet.
Anna. 25.
