Cold Wax by Aromacology SensiPosted on: 25th of October 2009

For a girl, I have a bit too much hair on my arms. My mom always craved and ate balot when she was pregnant with me and they say that’s why I’m a bit too hairy. If you’re Filipino and understand the term “pinaglihi,” yes, pinaglihi ako sa balot. It sucks, because I really don’t like seeing that much fuzz on my arms. Thank goodness for hair removal means, because I wouldn’t know what to do without them!
I don’t shave my arms for fear that the hair will all grow back uglier and thicker. Instead, I wax. I’ve tried several types of wax in the market. From easy to use wax strips to hot wax, but I ditched those, because they either didn’t work well or were just too messy for my liking. Earlier this year, I finally found something that I really really loved:

Aromacology Sensi’s Cold Wax

What I love most about this wax, is how cost effective it is. You don’t need to buy expensive wax strips/cloths, just use plain paper. Yes, paper! Even scratch paper will work just as well!
Here’s a quick step-by-step visual to show you guys how easy it is to use:

Feeding the FishPosted on: 27th of December 2008

My feet morphed into ugly little things recently. Both heels and flats tortured them to it. I really needed to treat them, so the afternoon before we flew back to Manila, I dragged JR out to Bugis Street where we spent thirty minutes feeding our feet to an army of fish.
I’ve been wanting to try going for a Fish Spa for months, but due to JR and I’s busy schedules, we only had the time to try it out last week.
Check out my feet being attacked:

The fish feasted on JR’s too:

They obviously liked his feet more! LOL!
The whole fish spa experience wasn’t as scary as I had initially feared. The fish nibbling on my dead skin didn’t hurt at all. In fact, it only felt like getting a regular foot spa, except it felt a little more ticklish.
The spa where we went to was more affordable than other more popular ones. Our thirty minute session only cost SGD15.00 each, as opposed to more commercialized spas going for at least SGD35.00. Quite a good deal, I must say. I just had to ignore the annoyingly loud and talkative lady at the booth. She made me want to get out of there right away. o_O
Thirty minutes wasn’t long enough for the entire fish spa, so I’m hoping to go for another session (will probably try out a different place) when we fly back.
I’m off to dreamland now (dreams about Wilmington NC real estate maybe?). I hope everyone’s having a wonderful holiday! I truly am! =)

Gym Buff No MorePosted on: 29th of November 2008

Back in Manila, I enjoyed going to the gym a lot. I would go mostly after work hours at least three times a week. Somehow going to Body Jam classes (yay dancing!) and doing extra work out after became a great stress-reliever. I didn’t have to refer to any Hydroxycut hardcore review to be able to follow a workout routine, because the cardio from Body Jam was enough to keep me fit.
I just finished my second week at work, and I realized that I need to do some workout (even light workout will do), in order to feel more relaxed and rejuvenated the following day. I really need to get off my butt and strive to become more fit again. =P

Spa TreatPosted on: 19th of November 2008

The day before I started working, the boyfriend and I spent two hours at the spa. We got ourselves a massage and a facial at True Spa’s new branch at the Cuppage Terrace. It was definitely the perfect treat as preparation for my new work (maybe not as grand as maybe traveling or going on Disney vacations, but it was still great), because even if I’m only in the middle of my work week, things have been quite exhausting already.
We were also very satisfied with the new branch’s service. The whole place was designed better. I liked the fact that the massage rooms had separate showers and changing closets. The massage was also better. I didn’t enjoy my massage the last time we went to their branch in Takashimaya, because I really felt like I was being bruised by the maseuse. The massage at Cuppage Terrace was perfect. The pressure was just right, and I felt very relaxed throughout the entire time.
Here’s a photo of me after my massage. =)

We’ll make sure to schedule our next session there again. =)
