Wordpress Woes

Posted on: 6th of September 2008 | Under: Geek Talk

I am currently using the boyfriend’s wordpress application on his iPod touch to compose this. For some reason, wordpress won’t allow me to login into my account on the web. It just keeps getting redirected to my login page every time I try. Has anyone else experienced this?

**EDIT**

Finally got the problem fixed! The boyfriend had to delete the “automatic update” plugin to get everything back to normal.

No Longer a Net Addict?

Posted on: 17th of August 2005 | Under: Geek Talk

You know that you’re no longer addicted to the internet when:

  • you can let a day pass without touching the computer.
  • you don’t get excited about going home to sit in front of the computer anymore.
  • you can no longer take staying up ’til the whee hours of the morning just surfing random websites.
  • you no longer know every single detail about what’s happening in everyone’s lives.
  • you don’t glue yourself in front of the monitor checking your email every 10 minutes.
  • you don’t logon friendster everyday anymore.
  • you no longer come up with new blog layouts every week.
  • you have over one month intervals between blog posts.
  • you’re not aware that your online friends already have new blog urls or domains.
  • you find that everytime you logon LJ, you have over 5 pages worth of friends’ back posts to read.
  • you’d rather sleep or watch TV than go online.
  • you no longer blog hop for hours.
  • you no longer memorize all the Y!M emoticons shortcuts.
  • you start feeling that reading online journals is a chore.
  • you already have time to finish 3 different books in a week.
  • you find your social life in full swing.

Ahhh, come to think of it, I think I’m no longer addicted to the internet. Well, not so addicted as I used to be, that is. :)

I love life. Oh yes I do! ^_,~;;

Working in the Wee Hours

Posted on: 19th of February 2004 | Under: Thoughts & Emotions

I’m a vampire. I hardly ever sleep at night. Instead of snuggling under my covers like everyone else, I’m left sitting in front of my drafting table, doing plates in the wee hours of the morning. It’s not like I have much choice. I could work on them in the afternoons when I get home from school, but distractions are always my problem.

The internet is one distraction for me. I can get myself hooked online for several hours, forgetting about my plates that need to be done. I often have to cram just to finish a plate in time for its deadline. I spend too much time with my eyes glued to the computer monitor and too little time on my plates. Pretty sad, huh?

But besides the cyber world, my ultimate distraction has got to be the people around me.

I dislike being disturbed. When I draft, I like to work straight. I dislike people coming up to me asking me to do things for them while I’m in the middle of a plate. I get that a lot here. Everytime I get started on a plate, someone always barges in the room to bug me. It’s simply annoying. I can never get through my plates without someone asking me to do things for them in between.

That’s basically the reason why I like to draft at night. With everyone asleep, I have the perfect time to work on things. No distractions. Noone calling out my name every 30 minutes.

For a lot of people, it’s not an ideal time to be working, but it works for me.

I’m a night person and I find that my mind and creative juices work better at the oddest time. Mainly because I can think straight without anyone butting in between. ^^;;

So yes, those baggages under my eyes can get bigger and more visible if they want. I’m too comfortable working at night to change the habit. XP hehe!

Extra: I have 3 new plates up in my extra section.

Life Online and Offline

Posted on: 19th of January 2004 | Under: Geek Talk

Everyone here at home’s in bed now. It’s already one in the morning, but I’m still here typing away in front of my computer. It’s funny, really. For a person who always complains of not getting enough sleep, I should really be snuggled under my covers by this time. I don’t have any plates to work on and I could actually take advantage of the free time to rest. But I’m not. I can’t. It’s all because of the simple reason that everytime I lie down, I just end up wide awake, tossing and turning in bed. o_O;;

So yes, here I am, trying to tire my eyes by surfing the net. Noone seems to be online Yahoo Messenger. I’m running out of sites to visit, and friendster is starting to get boring. Whoopeedoo. The internet is slowly becoming boring. Either that, or I’m just starting to get tired of the whole internet routine.

I’m more convinced in thinking that it’s just the latter though.

I guess that’s one of the reasons why I don’t go online as much anymore. For someone who used to drown herself online, literally 24/7, I’ve actually managed to cut down my net-cravings. Perhaps I’ve just become more disciplined with balancing my time. I guess so. With all the things going on in my offline life, sometimes I just can’t be bothered sitting in front of my computer for hours doing the normal “online things.”

I have been catching up on my offline social life too. For months, even years, I was pretty much caught up with the “net world” that I didn’t give much importance to my real social life. It was all school, eat, net and sleep for me. But lately I learned how to balance my time efficiently. I’ve been going out and have been enjoying the company of my friends more. After being wrapped up with the cyber world for quite a while, it’s just great to finally have a real social life again. ^_^;;

So in conclusion, yes, my life is going great. Despite the tiresome work I regulary get in school, everything else is prettly much cotton candy. I’m way beyond happy and contented with the way things are going. Life is colorful and I just can’t ask for anything more. ^_,~;;
